Football Season is Back, and Levi’s Stadium is Ready with a New Food Program
Fall weather is finally settling in here in the Bay Area and Football Sundays is back! Any football fans here? I’ll be honest, I haven’t been one to go to football games knowing that I would have pay exorbitant prices for sub-par food and drinks on top of my ticket and parking.
But not at Levi’s Stadium.
The team has revamped the food and drink vendors in time for the 2019 season, and I have to say, it’s making me want to go to a game. If I’m going to pay a premium on food and drinks (and possibly sit in traffic), I’d rather spend it on quality items that I want to consume. The team has focused on sourcing local vendors, which I love. There’s quite a varying array of cuisines as well, so grab a few buddies so you can try a bite from each restaurant! See the list of 2019 vendors and their locations around the stadium here.
The Levi’s team lead us on a culinary tour around the entire lower level of the stadium, but I didn’t know how much food we were about to eat and didn’t pace myself appropriately. I lost quite a bit of steam by the time we made it to the food court area, oops. Some highlights of the tour are below.
Our tour started at the new Gold Bar Whiskey bar. Their signature whiskey mule is so delicious and refreshing for a warm afternoon game! Moscow mules are one of my favorite cocktails, so I was intrigued. I was worried about the strength of the whiskey, but it was light and refreshing, balanced nicely with lime and ginger beer. We also perused some of the game day swag that will be given out at home games. Ticket information for 2019 games here. I’m hoping the social media team announces what the swag is for each game — I couldn’t find the information on the website. I secretly want the red scarf. I think the rally towel is going to be given out for the November 11th game, so look forward to that if you’re attending the game!
We finished our drinks and embarked on our journey. Team mascot Sourdough Sam also joined in the fun. The first couple bites:
- Ribs by Safeway
- Super Duper burgers and garlic fries
- Sandi’s seafood gumbo
- Curry Roots’ tandoori chicken (and flatbread)
- Copita’s tacos (and award-winning margaritas)
We then walked a couple yards inside to a food court area that also features a bar. There was so much food greeting us! Some bites you can expect to see here include: Guy Fieri’s Chicken Guy!, Iguana’s burritos, Blueline’s pizzas, Truya Sushi’s sushi and poke bowls, Tony Gemignani’s Slice House pizzas, Salt & Straw’s ice cream, and other delicious bites like crab sammies and burgers!
Thank you to the Levi’s team for the hospitality and a Smörgåsbord dinner of stadium eats!
