Highlight: Alici Oyster Bar Happy Hour

Alici Oyster Bar in Midtown is the spot to go for happy hour if you love oysters and Italian food. Chef Pat Pascarella is the chef-owner of The Porchetta Group, which includes The White Bull, Grana (Piedmont and Dunwoody), Bastone, and Alici Oyster Bar.

Happy Hour:
Tuesday-Friday 4-6pm
Saturday and Sunday 2-6pm
On the menu:
$1.50 daily selection of oysters
$9 small plates
$14 pastas

I would be surprised if the happy hour menu changes, but generally, you can probably expect a daily selection of oysters and 3 small plate and pasta options to choose from on the happy hour menu.

Review:
I really liked the vibe of the interior — it’s classy with an Italian touch. I liked the design of the tiled floors and the rustic feel of the stone wall in the back. The bar seating is nice for solo dining or a more casual dining experience. I can see myself stopping in for happy hour on my own and eating at the bar. The location of Alici is perfect for running some errands at Trader Joe’s and/or walking along the Beltline as access is just several yards away from the plaza.

We ordered some oysters, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. While the yellowfin tuna crudo isn’t on the happy hour menu, it was really good and I recommend it if you like raw fish. I’m obsessed with the crispy potatoes, which I’ll definitely be getting again if they’re still on the happy hour menu on a subsequent visit.

The pastas we ordered were not on the happy hour menu. I ordered the bucatini, which came with a pound of lobster! It’s quite pricey at $38, but it’s definitely shareable among two to three people if you’re also ordering sides. I took more than half home as leftovers! My friend got the linguine & clams and she really liked it. For dessert, we got the torta barozzi; I don’t think I’ve tried this type of cake before. I really enjoyed it since it wasn’t overly sweet; it was the perfect way to end our meal.
